Introduction: The countries of Pakistan and India have a long-standing conflict that has recently worsened due to some old and new disputes. This conflict began during the Partition of British India, 1947, which ended colonial rule in India and separated it into two separate countries: India and Pakistan. This partition led to mass violence and the displacement of millions.

Further Information: This conflict that began with the conflict of the partition plan became much larger as wars became the outcome, one of the most notorious, the Indo-Pakistani War of 1947-1948. This conflict revolved around the dispute over Kashmir, which is a strategically significant region that is split into three parts.

Recent Conflicts: The dispute over Kashmir has led to a motivation towards war between India and Pakistan. There have been several attacks which resulted in civilian casualties. A recent attack, which was linked to Pakistan by India, resulted in gunmen shooting 26 people, who were all fatal.

Outcomes: These countries have taken measures that led to the cancellation of visas to each other's countries and the suspension of a water-sharing treaty. Pakistan has suspended trade with India, closed its airspace, and led to outrage in Pakistan. This outrage has impacted both countries as people are extremely frustrated with the conflict.

Conclusion: There have been many ceasefires; however, none of them have been successful. There is a major issue with the political, territorial, and mistrust, and cross-border terrorism conflict between these two countries. This is still alive and very active today, as reported with fatal massacres and attacks on civilians.
